TUPRAS Reinforcement of TK-3048, 3053 and 3046 Spherical Tanks Against Earthquake

• This project, located in TUPRAS Aliaga/IZMIR Refinery, covers reinforcement works for TK-3048, 3053 and 3046 spherical tanks against earthquake by restorating their foundations and legs.

• Within the scope of the project, the foundations of the existing spherical tanks were excavated, reinforced in accordance with the new earthquake regulations, the existing tank legs were disassembled and replaced with the newly manufactured legs. All the welds of the tanks were 100% checked and defect detected areas were re-welded. Tank inlet and outlet pipes were reconstructed and changed. After the sandblasting process of the tanks, fire proof application was made on the legs. The inside area of the dike was rearranged and the project delivered to TUPRAS.
