The existing jet fuel system at Izmir Adnan Menderes International Airport’s Jet Fuel System was completed in 2006 by ORDINAT Company. In 2011 it was decided to demolish the existing old Domestic Terminal and construct a new Domestic Terminal. In the scope of this work 12 existing hydrant pits demolished and new hydrant pits installed for the new 8 bridges and 5 parking places. Also one main pump (with a capacity 275m³/h) and one filter/separator added to the system at the existing pump house.
The project involved:
Installation of 1.500m of 14’’, 320m of 12” and 1.150m of 6’’ underground jet fuel pipelines (100% radiographically controlled) and installation of 36 aircraft jet fuel hydrant pits, 6 high and low points and cathodic protection system operated from an electronic panel. With this project the number of pits at the airport reached to 81 hydrant pits. The project completed in 2013 in parallel to the construction of New Domestic Terminal building.
