Atatürk Airport New International Terminal Building Jet Fuel Hydrant System Construction

The project to create facilities capable of simultaneously supplying jet fuel to 18 aircrafts and the rehabilitation of the existing pumping and automation system at Istanbul Atatürk Airport’s New International Terminal was completed in 1999. This project consists of the following;

- Mounting 2000m of 16’’ and 1600m of 6’’ underground fuel pipelines (100%radiographically controlled).
- Installation of 36 jet fuel hydrant pits,
- Procurement and installation of 3 pumps (825m³/h total capacity), 2 separatorfilters, a diesel generator, board room and its switchboards in the pump stationin order to increase of pump capacity and rehabilitate automation of the existingsystem,
- Cathodic protection application which is operating from an electronic panel andits electronic control boards,
- MCC system, replacement of a transformer, the renewal of all the energy powerlines including entrance and inside of the facility.

In 2002, two years after the engagement, a new extension project has began for the terminal. 10 hydrant pits, 700mts of 16’’ piping, 420m of 6” piping, high-low points and one valve room were integrated into the Atatürk Airport Jet Fuel Hydrant System to service aircrafts parking alongside the 5 additionally constructed passenger boarding bridges.

Detailed engineering works was in the scope of Ordinat and the system continues to work with 23 bridges.
