Atatürk Airport Additional Facility-2 and Development Project Fuel Hydrant System Works

With modifications of existing bridges, new 12 bridges were added to the existing Domestic Terminal & new 3 bridges were added to the existing International Terminal (224, 225 and 226 numbered bridges). Installation of 32 new aircraft jet fuel hydrant pits were completed. (24 pits at Domestic Terminal, 8 pits at International Terminal) in accordance with planned extension investment project by TAV. The Project Involved:
- Installation of 1.900m of 16” and 1.126m of 6” jet fuel pipelines (100% radiographically controlled).
- Existing 24” pipeline were branched 4x12” by “hot-top” procedure. Procurement and mounting of 150lb gate valves, 2 high points, 4 low points.
- Procurement and mounting of 32 fuel hydrant pits.
- Blinding of existing 17 fuel hydrant pits.
- Construction of 3 new underground valve rooms.
- Procurement and mounting of 4 valve chamber covers (comply with navigation standards), and stairs. At the end of the project 90 of fuel hydrant pits are available at Istanbul Atatürk Airport (32 of newly constructed, 58 of previously existing hydrant pits).
