Afghanistan Bagram Air Base Phase 5 & Phase 8 Project Electric Works, Underground Jet Fuel Tanks and Refuelling Facility Manufacturing and Installation Works

The project is the construction of bulk fuel storage and supply facilities for AfghanistanBagram US Airfield (BAF). This project provides BAF with a permanentand secure fuel storage, supply and distribution system. ORDİNAT Company isqualified for this project in 2009. The main contractor is SERKA İNŞAAT AŞ.The Project includes three fuel storage tanks and a 3km underground transferline between two storage areas. The scope of work includes construction of three25.000BBL (4000m³) jet fuel storage tanks for forward refueling purposes. Thebulk fuel storage tanks are cut and cover tanks. Supporting facilities include onefilter building which is consist of 6x900GPM (6x204m3/h) filter/water separators,3 pump houses which are consist of 3x900GPM (3x204m3/h) pumps in eachpump houses, 3500m 8” underground jet fuel pipeline (100% radiographicallycontrolled), 4 jet fuel tanker loading facilities, site work, mechanical, electrical,instrument and communications work to produce a complete and functional facilityas well as all related electrical and instrumentation works.This project is defined as the material, labor, and equipment to construct all utilities,fuel storage tanks and fuels handling systems and other features to provide afully functional and operating bulk fuel storage system.The project was completed in May 2011.
