Istanbul New Airport, the greatest project in the history of the Republic, will be constructed over an area of 76,5 million square meters to the north of Istanbul, in 35 km distance to the city center. The construction will be carried out in four phases. The first phase will be finalized in 2018 with the opening of three runways and a terminal with 90 million passenger capacity. Once completed, the new airport will host more than 150 airline companies flying to more than 350 destinations with an annual passenger capacity up to 200 million.
The project has been awarded at the beginning of 2016 to ORDINAT by IGA. Construction contract is signed in March. This new and 3rd airport of Istanbul will be the biggest one in Europe and it’s fuel hydrant system will be the biggest one in the world when it will be completed.
